Why the heck would they plug the USB port with epoxy?

Removing the jumper on motherboard pin block tells the OS that no USB is installed.

To get around that one has to have physical control of the cpu box, remove the cover and add the jumper to complete the circuit to the USB port, and then install the drivers. Kind of hard to do unnoticed in a SCIF don’t you think?

Overkill. Laziness and incompetence. Remove temptation to mess with cpu box.


We were preached: Security is NOT Convenient. And that is true.

And, when we needed to do something, they would review and make a judgement, usually NO.

They wouldn’t tell us how we COULD do what we needed. We had to keep guessing. Hard for us to do work, and ensured their job ‘security’ (no pun intended).
