A perfect long term view would be to do as much as possible within the purview of the Constitution to get government the hell out of everybody’s business. Incentivize business where it has authority and stop its intrusion where it has no authority under the Constitution.

Has Trump laid out a plan to do that, or has he just spoken platitudes towards it, while praising socialized medicine and free trade with better "leaders"?

Let me offer you a very good read that will help you to understand better what you are talking about. It is a pdf of Thomas Sowell’s Basic Economics a Citizen’s Guide to the Economy.

http://www.altfeldinc.com/pdfs/BASICECONOMICS.pdf

It is only 48 pages and jampacked with great info and background. Start there and we’ll discuss your post afterward. Sowell will correct many of the fallacies expressed in your post.

Let the solution by private and let free trade lead. Comparative and absolute advantage are real and we practice them every day in the course of our lives.

Here’s a great backgrounder on basic economics:

Thanks. As you are likely well aware, people have preferences for work, leisure and etc. If we incentivize leisure over work, then you get welfare queens. Nonetheless, her ‘work’ is leisure and she gets paid for it.

Please take the time to read this pdf abridgement of Sowell’s economic treatise. It’s only 48 pages, succinct and clear: http://www.altfeldinc.com/pdfs/BASICECONOMICS.pdf

You cocky SOB. I have a minor in economics but most economic theory is bull crap with regards to the wealth of the entire nation. So I am already well versed in "classic" economic theory. The last 30 years has proven it is all bunk. I am/have rejected classic economics which is fairly tales and fantasy.

The proof is already in the empirical data.

The purchasing power of the vast majority of Americans have stayed the same since the 70’s despite decades of reduced trading regulations like Nafta etc.

Free trade as currently practiced benefits capital only, and not workers.

“I have a minor in economics”

From where? It doesn’t show in any of your comments. You should like my union shop steward from decades ago. I actually believe you’re more than one person.

I've always had a problem with classical economic theory and it bothered me for along time. Then it occurred to me that classical economic theory would only work in a one world government model, it requires the end of the nation state and republicanism to properly function in accordance with theory.

You have to be a fascist to believe in classical economic theory; that is the problem I have with it.

I have a BSEE and took many econ/ business electives, I was told I could get a minor if I put in the paper work but I never bothered. I was also 3 credits short of a minor in math but I was in no mood to take another class....

“International Trade
Before NAFTA was passed, Congressman David Bonior of Michigan warned: “If the agreement with Mexico receives congressional approval, Michigan’s auto industry will eventually vanish.” But what actually happened was that employment in the automobile industry increased by more than 100,000 jobs over the next six years.”

***** You are posted dated crap. When did Thomas Sowell write that? Because NAFTA ended up ruining Detroit along with allowing Japanese and Koreans to build automobile plants here in the USA

only in your tiny brainlet - what little scrambled egg you have for one, have I been any different on free trade that Reagan, and now Trump. I’ve said it on this damned forum a thousand times....I am in favor of free trade as a concept, but not in favor of every single trade deal that comes down the pike.

Trump has just joined me, and left you mumbling and fumbling in the dust. Is he a little more worried about China and a little less worried about our own damned liberalism than I am? YES. But those are details. But he just said it - your boi just said GO FREE TRADE!!!!! Only in your stupid lying dumb ass is he any different now than I am on this.

I like Trump better as a result of this statement....I respect you even less for your total denial that I just kicked your ass.

[I believe CNN and CentVA are actually a group of people trolling FR on behalf of a union donor] dodge the question just like a Lefty.

They are either union trolls, or they are simply profoundly stupid individuals with an incredibly shallow concept of economic reality. Or both.

But of course, Cringer hasn't even tried to answer any question, because he is mentally incapable of it. central wants to call Donald a good free trader and call me a free traitor, because to admit that this Trump statement just totally wipes out any argument he has with me is something he's not man enough to admit or smart enough to understand.

CNN is a union troll, a group of them I believe. All Democrats and all disinformation all the time, just like CNN. It never answers any questions. It never faults government.

You can search their posts by using “Cringingnegativismne” and users.

dennisw and central_va do not get that international trade economics is political, unfair and vicious. Why should we limit our liberty and make our international trade political, unfair (a typical SJW plank and an undefinable word), and vicious?

Utter nonsense. Prices are lower today than in the 70s.

What cost $2 in 1977 would cost $7.70 in 2014.

Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2014 and 1977, they would cost you $3. and $0.74 respectively.

Stop lying and get the facts.
