Vanity: Home of the Most Freepers?
North Carolina | Today | Me

Posted on 08/28/2015 11:34:48 AM PDT by TangledUpInBlue

So this past weekend I took my son down to College. He's a freshmen at HPU! Hooyah!

When we left at the end of the weekend, we're driving to these Tanger outlets in Mebane, NC and alongside of the road I see a sign that says:

Welcome to Alamance County: Home to the most Freepers!

Now, I had to share. I have no idea if it's right or not, but if I had seen it sooner, I would have had my wife snap a picture to upload!

Congratulations to you and your son! HPU has really grown and has a beautiful campus. You can’t go into a restaurant in town without seeing a “We Love HPU” sign. Hopefully the academics are good there also.

Thanks. And you’re right - the Campus is beyond gorgeous. President Nido Qubein is insistent about manners, courtesy, academics, etc... the place is spotless. The students are polite and respectful.

Academically, the College is up and coming but already boasts one of the best PT programs in the country. (which is what my son is studying)

Commencement Speakers have been: Laura Bush, Steve Wozniak, Coca Cola CEO, Tom Brokaw, Colin Powell and this year will be Condi Rice. For a small school, he’s making big things happen.

Not sure what road. Pretty sure it was an NC state highway. I don’t think it was an Interstate. The drive from High Point to Mebane is about 50 minutes so there was more than one road.

I looked and didn’t see it, but I wasn’t going to check every road that goes into the county. :-)

Probably California, we have the most conservatives, but we have even more liberals.

So, if we look at the scoreboard, the bottom line is that less than 2000 folks are ALL that support it! Does anybody know how many posters there are? Besides the “authorities” that is. You know we’re on the watch list. Tell your friends and family to get involved with FR. Lurkers (which I was one for a long time) get off the fence and pony up. Where else can you have this much fun for so little money? And to think FR rates pretty high up on the list of conservative sites. Should be # friggin’ 1 with a bullet.

I think it is “Welcome to Alamance County: Home to the Most Free Press” as in free newspapers.

Pretty much, I don’t know how many freepers are subbed or lurk, that would be info that the admins would have.

High Point University. It’s a private University with a Methodist denomination - though that’s not really central to what they do in a sense.

It’s a smaller school - population about 4,500 but they’ve got one of the best PT programs in the country. And a super passionate, dedicated President who is elevating that school quickly.

I’m sure in the coming years, you’ll hear a lot more about HPU.
