This is truly a fascinating event in history. One of the two national political parties has a candidate leading in the polls of their primary and beating the opposition party in several battleground states and the party is rejecting the candidate.

They're not called the 'Stupid Party' for nothing.

Tell Preibus that you pledge to run a third party candidacy if even one state GOP blocks you from the ballot.

Good, let him. Better he go 3rd party now and flame out sooner rather than later.

There is no constitutional right for the Republican Party to accept anyone, and especially none that requires any political party to allow a person to use their infrastructure only to see them run a spoiler 3rd party campaign or not back the eventual nominee.

Let "the Donald" go 3rd party, force him to spend his own money and let him implode his campaign long before a general election before he can do any actual damage to the actual Republican nominee.

The ‘pledge’ has been sent out to at least one candidate:

Norah O’Donnell @NorahODonnell

“We have received it; I haven’t signed it” - @RandPaul on RNC’s #GOP pledge @CBSThisMorning”

I see no benefit to Trump from signing it and some negative results if he does.

The fact that Reince is running to Trump is revealing: Who stands to benefit from Trump signing?

The selfish little grabbers are going to find that this could backfire big-time, just like everything else they have said and done. Big-time.

Trump needs to have his own pledge for Rinse Preemy to sign.

It is a two sided coin and they both are not heads.

I’d be happy to see him pledge and then renig if he doesn’t get the nomination. Why not? All of the GOP leaders have done exactly that with Obamacare and immigration. What could they do to him? Shame him? Revoke his GOP membership card?

I don’t think Trump needs our advice on how to negotiate.

He’s got to do something by the end of the month, or he gets excluded from the SC primary.

I would love to see him extract a fairness pledge from the RNC in exchange though.

On the upside, I see Trump has being the only qualified nominee at the convention. I understand, the RNC put in rule to support Mitt during the last election, that you have to win 8 state primaries to be nominated.

I see Trump easily winning over half the primaries. I don’t see Jeb or Carson being able to win 8.

They have to win 16% of the states and they only have 9% of the overall vote.

I predict that’s exactly what we’ll find out in a few minutes. This will not be unconditional surrender.
