One by one on Thursday, Donald Trump slammed his Republican presidential rivals in a press conference about party unity.
At an event at Trump Tower in New York, Trump announced that he signed a pledge not to run as a third-party candidate, which he previously warned he would do if the Republican Party did not treat him respectfully.
Though Trump devoted much of his time to the pledge, he also dedicated a significant chunk of Thursdays press conference to bragging about his high poll numbers and slamming his Republican rivals.
Trump took particular aim at former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who in recent weeks has ramped up his criticisms of Trump and labeled him a fake conservative.
I watched him on TV this morning, and it was a bit sad, Trump said of Bushs attacks. He was supposed to win, and he just doesnt have the energy.
Trump, who has frequently repeated his low-energy attack on Bush over the past few weeks, also said Bush was beholden to the donors to his campaign and the outside super PAC supporting his run.
If I were him, Id spend money on positive ads about himself, Trump said.
Trump didnt stop there.

Picture here!
He sails he wasn’t up to date on what was happening so would not make a comment.
YEP...LOL.
Is that the jailed woman in Kentucky?
He was asked to comment, and said he didn’t know enough about it.
HE got Low Teeeee. He oughtta ask his doctor about the latest treatments! In another way of looking at it, I’m reminded of what they used to call George Sr. - Wimp.
He doesn’t NEED to engage Yeb on the issues, he’s that far ahead.
There’s so much to criticize Bush about.
Saying that Bush is low energy and receives campaign donations are low energy criticisms.
Maybe, but it sticks in voter’s minds.
It was never binding. Who cares anyway.
I want to see Bush and others sign a pledge stating they will actively support Trump or Cruz if they get the nomination.
“but it [Trump’s “low energy criticisms”] sticks in voters minds.”
Exactly - Trump is probably the best at communicating to the mass electorate because he uses simple words, simple ideas, in a way people understand. I personally prefer Cruz, definitely a principled conservative, but Trump is hitting a chord with people. He understands he doesn’t have to go over the top all the time, and how to identify and exploit weakness.
Which one of the pledges is correct? The one you posted or the one posted with the article?
Same pledge but different dates.........
He was asked the question at the press conference about her and he said he hadn’t heard anything about the case. I’m sure he was busy with Reese’s Pieces at the time the announcement came.
I checked whether he had attacked Cruz, and agree - headline should have said critical opponents . . .
One of his best strengths is his willingness to lie.
He's seeking the GOP nomination for president and he claims he's a conservative, it's his job to know if he wants to be taken seriously.
ANYBODY, and I do mean anybody, can get up and promise to build a wall if elected. It doesn't take a genius to know that this is a talking point that will go over well with conservatives. A real conservative knows that this thing is a package deal. There have been exactly two times in American history when a single issue was all that really mattered: the Civil War and World War II.
Conservatives have known about this woman's battle for some time now, just about every other GOP candidate immediately made a statement. Trump saying he doesn't know enough about it sounds an awful lot like, "That's above my paygrade."
Trump is awesome. Just accept it. LOL!
It’s also possible he has been following other things.
Paul knows it because it’s Kentucky.
Cruz knows it because he’s been the leader of evangelical Christians, as has been Huckabee.
Fiorini is campaigning for the establishment blessing.
Trump was busy undergoing attacks from Bush and the GOP with today being Pledge Day for only 1 candidate, so far as I know, for the first time in history.
Well said, wagglebee. However, (that awful word) I’m not going to cast Trump aside at this point. Although I think that Cruz is one of the best (if not the best) candidates I’ve ever seen, that means little if he isn’t electable.
We are in a place in history where our country may not survive. If it takes a larger than life, outspoken, newly moving to the right, brash but intelligent businessman to bring us back to where we need to be, I will vote for him.
I'm not saying that he should be cast aside, but he needs to get educated.
Immigration will only carry him so far (remember Rudy and 9/11), at some point he will have to speak on other issues. He should have had advisers who were all over this.
