I remember some years ago some “teens” threw a cinderblock off an overpass onto a car on the highway. It killed the man driving the car, who happened to be a father of young children.
I remember the teensgot off with no jail time!
Sick. Was that in Mpls.?
Growing up, some people dropped a manhole cover onto a VW Beetle, slicing it in two, killing the young woman driver. Chain-link fencing was installed outward, from underneath the overpasses, shortly thereafter.
Harder to bypass for larger objects, I guess, and messing up the accuracy when throwing past too.
There was an incident similar back in the ‘90s, in which three “teens” dropped a cinderblock onto a car going north on Route 81 between Syracuse and Watertown.
The driver of the car was a soldier returning to duty in Ft. Drum, and was killed.
The three who dropped the cinderblock were caught. IIRC, all got long prison terms, and the one who actually dropped the cinderblock got a life term with no parole for something like 50 years.
