If Someone's Speech Is Not PC, Does that Automatically Equate It To Biblical Acceptability?

I'm not saying that we have a theocracy or should have one, nor am I saying that if someone messes up from time to time in their choice of words or choices in life that this means they are automatically not a Christian or aren't seeking to follow the Bible to the best of their ability. Nor should anyone use yet another Straw Man (that I have to knock down before they are lobbed onto this thread) and say that "At least this person isn't Obama."

Being anti-PC is often a good thing, for it can remove the endless quibbling, euphemisms and hair-splitting that so often pervades most western democracies, but being non-PC doesn't necessarily mean Biblically acceptable.

With that said, one cannot just say they are going to be anti-PC on this and that and that automatically makes it okay because if it goes against certain scriptures as John 13:35: "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" then the behavior of one who may indeed be un-PC still may not make it Biblically acceptable. Secondly, 1 Corinthians 13 says that love is not puffed up and is not boastful.

Jobs, jobs, jobs... That's a good thing to promote. But Jesus said in Mt 16:26 and Mark 8:36: "What good would it do for a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?"

The Apostle Paul loved the Apostle Peter, but he had to correct him when Peter became hypocritical at a point in his life (as detailed in Galatians chapter 2), but Paul corrected Peter in love, not in anger and rage through name-calling or other means. I cannot see how wanting to levy stiff taxes/tariffs on others peoples stuff but not calling for your own stuff shipped in to be hammered as well could not be non-hypocritical.

And I seriously doubt that the Apostle Paul would ever try to use the excuse or say that others could use the excuse, I'm just being non-PC, or say that trashing people is always okay or okay at all.

The only time when people were seriously challenged by the prophets (and the prophets employed humor and sarcasm) was pretty much when the people being targeted were the false religious leaders, or were acting in concert with false religious leaders, or were acting in their name.

Jesus had no qualms about going after the religious leaders, and while I am against illegal immigration and want the border to have maximum security, I do not remember Jesus ever saying "Let the little anchor babies come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God."

Would Jesus ever refer to a child or baby as being an anchor baby in any context? WWJD? People like this acronym until it is something that WWJD would rip their choice of words to shreds.

Yeah, we sure have a lot of people wanting to be like Jesus alright... They seem to like the Bible when it comes to abortion and gay marriage, and I have cited scriptures on these topics, but I also know that it sure looks like many within the GOP just want the Bible when it comes to those two topics and really don't care much about the rest of it, and certainly not when it deals with other topics.

Just remember when someone tells you that pathetic line, “What would Jesus do?”, remind them that flipping over tables and taking a whip to people remains a viable option...

PC is all about appearances, and not about the content of the heart.

(still munching on popcorn)...

One last thing, and then you all can talk as much as you wish...

Jesus said to “Judge not lest ye be judged.”

In other words we, cannot judge by human standards.

But he also said to (in John 7:24): “Stop judging by outward appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.”

So this is not an either/or situation. It is a both/and situation.

We have to judge not by our standards, but by Biblical standards.

When one finds himself in the slime due to those who need to be defeated, that one needs to fight the same way. God Himself ordered some mass massacres and killed a bunch of "stiff-necked idiots" after feeding them the meat they wanted to supplement His heaven-sent manna.

You can either fight for effect or lay down and become martyrs to the Evil side.

As a Bible-believing Christian, I sometimes wonder if we should fight or follow Jesus' advice to "resist not evil".

Paul would insinuate himself in local cultures to become like them in order to be more effective in carrying the Word.

No clear-cut answer, but the purely human side of me says to give back better than what the opposition gives.

You’re points seem to be largely anti-Trump, which is fine by me. No one is beyond scrutiny.
My biggest problem with Trump is his personal attacks on people, like going after Fiona’s looks. Come on.
However, he does love America and is not PC, and is firing up people like no repub has for a while.
Your points about WWJD, and all that. I hate when politicians try to be “Christian”. It’s such a blatant ploy that it disgusts me. I prefer to just see what fruits are born, and how they stand on issues other than claiming Christ and then supporting abortion for example.

PC hates meaningful Christianity - practice that takes the Bible seriously. That does not mean preaching condemnation - it means preaching grace - the gospel of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, PC hates the Bible and Truth and the lifting up of Jesus Christ. The spirit of PC is the spirit of anti-Christ. It is one of the many elements of popular culture and conventional wisdom that is ushering in the end times.

The Bible is really big on truth. PC is, by definition, anti-truth.

Several big assumptions here. The first is that Christianity is shy about speaking the truth, no matter what it is:

Tit 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. Tit 1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Mat_23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

The concept of "civility" in ancient times was very different from today, where back then personal attacks where justified were common, even used by Christ Himself in His condemnation of the Pharisees. We do need to be "charitable," we think the best of people, we forgive our neighbors in personal slights, but we don't hesitate to call a devil a devil or a liar a liar.

Would Jesus ever refer to a child or baby as being an anchor baby in any context? WWJD? People like this acronym until it is something that WWJD would rip their choice of words to shreds.

Considering Romans 13, it is highly unlikely Christ would have anything kind to say about illegal aliens or quibble about what the children really are to them. Christ would probably condemn Mexico for its greed and sin.

One of the most misquoted passages of scripture. The verse refers to hypocrisy, not refraining from judging.

“Jesus said to ‘Judge not lest ye be judged.’”

About 99% of the time this is taken out of context and quoted incorrectly (as is done here). Yes; He did say this, but He said is to the Pharisees one time in specific reference to their hypocrisy. Overall, the Bible is one huge reference on judging — how to do it, when to do it, etc.
