(vanity) Any word of stock crashes overseas?

Being it's the 13th, and therefore the Jewish New Year and the Shemitah, any word on overseas stocks, or what we might expect tomorrow morning over here?

Not being a smart-aleck...I really want to know.

Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 0.50% while the Hang Seng is down 0.09%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.

Japan is down about 1%. Hang Seng opened Ok, but they are down too. But not horribly.

American futures are, for the most part, flat.

Here’s a good graphic of the markets. I have the Shanghai down 3% (it was down .8% half an hour ago). Shanghai is pretty volatile though, it could easily finish green in 3 hrs 13 min.

Just looked at futures - slightly up.

Will be looking later tonight as well.

Interesting things this month. We shall see by October if any 7-year cycle occurs. And by tomorrow regarding Sunday (non-open markets) Elul 29 (Monday being Tishri 1 if I understand it correctly - thanks for any corrections on the dates, anyone).

Down a little but CNBCW hosts don’t look at all concerned. Are yucking it up about certain individual stocks.

.
Its a false “shemitah.”

The Biblical new year has to begin on the new moon of the Aviv barley.

The Rabbinical shemitah is not YHVH’s.

Haven’t seen Shanghai collapse that quickly over past week or so. So far, everytime there is a drop to a specific number, Chinese government pumps the market with billions in direct purchases. Like if it hits a certain percent down or begins to plummet very quickly, they’ll pump it up. That is why it is so volatile, because the natural inclination of that market is to plummet or at least glide down to doom. This sudden drop of something like 50 points in 5 minutes, or sometimes going up 20 points and then dropping another 30 or 40 points then going up 20 points in the span of just one minute, seems pretty abnormal. This kind of movement should have already resulted in government intervention if we look at the pattern over the past couple of weeks.

We’ll see if the government intervenes more forcefully in the last hour before closing, but to so far it looks very strange.

Nikkei looks like it will settle at about -200 (-1.1%)
Shanghai dropping hard and possible trading freeze at -102 (-3.2%)
Hang Seng down a tad.

If Shanghai breaks below 3000, there’s going to be some problems with confidence.

Aviv is a condition of the barley crop where it can be made ready to grind for flour by baking it slightly.

That assures that the gathered crop will be ready 14 days later to bake the loves for the offering.

This obviously can only occur in the spring.

The Rabbinical calendar is Babylonian in nature, and known to be wrong by 6 months deliberately to confuse the Romans of the era when it was devised.

This shemitah talk is all for show; the Rabbis know better, but rarely share the truth with the people.

What is funny is most of the “messianic” Jewabies don’t understand it.

Probably not.

Anyway, there is nothing Biblical to tie the shemitah to any doom. Its hype to sell books and stuff.

Hmm. I wonder why the Rabbis are playing it coy?

Also, what is a Jewabie?
