Ohio state = first national champ under a playoff system.
LOL! I’m not sure he thinks that!
Lol, destroyed 42-35? If Bama hadn't thrown a late interception around OSU's 20 yard line, the result could easily have been different. And that was the fifth or sixth best team in Saban's eight years at Alabama. OSU lucked out catching Bama in an off year with an overachieving team.
OSU is 1-3 against Bama and 2-8 against SEC teams in bowl games.
You must have watched a different game. The score was closer than reality.
I watched the game where Bama had the ball around the OSU twenty after a poor punt, or some odd play in the fourth quarter. I was saying aloud: Run it in, expecting Lane Kiffin to call a pass. He called a pass, and it was overthrown and intercepted. Bama could have taken the lead befoe the long run by OSU later in the quarter.
You need to back off the hyperbole. Nobody "destroyed" anyone. And that game is now in the past, just as in the past as the three Bama wins over OSU and three recent national championships. All those teams are in the past and it's a new season.
Well that game really isn’t the past because OSU is still the reigning National Champions! And the first ever under a more fair system of a tournament. So the SEC stack the deck BS won’t fly. But I’m sure they’ll try to get 2, 3, or even 4 teams in the tournament so they can win one again.
Reigning champs only in a mythical sense because there is such much turnover in personnel from year-to-year in college.
Total nonsense that the SEC stacked the deck in the past. After former top programs like Nebraska, Miami and FSU began to fade, SEC schools like Florida, LSU and Alabama and Auburn became stronger and won a string of seven championships. Overall, Ohio State had more underserved trips to the BCS championship than anyone.
The whining and blather that comes from SEC haters is beyond ridiculous. It's in most sports talk boards and makes them basically a waste of time since so little interesting conversation slips in among all the whining and nonsense.
You see who the loser was for 2006 and 2007, by large margins - destroyed - and that's also when it became undeniable that the SEC had become strongest conference.
Looking at the 19 years of the BCS, the SEC got no favored treatement. Ohio State and Oklahoma had the most appearances and the most loses of the BCS era.
The SEC won nine BCS championships, and lost only one championship game to a non-SEC school, Auburn's loss to FSU 34-31 at the end of the game.
The SEC outperformed all others.
With what all followed after he was let go as head coach it would have been far wiser and less damage done to the entire athletic department to have simply made Phil Fulmer the athletic Director. They should have promoted a new coach from within. There was never a question of Fulmer's loyalty and dedication to UT. Fulmer's record was second only to one man which was The General himself.
I think Butch Jones if given the chance and left alone may be able to get things back on track. He's rebuilding an entire program and it takes time.
Kiffin??? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Oh MY Sides LOL LOL I almost feel sorry for Bama.
Clearly you haven’t looked at Ohio state returning roster.
I always thought that the way Fulmer was let go damaged the program. Sort of like Lloyd Carr at Michigan not too long after he won a national championship like Fulmer had. Both programs might have been better off sticking with their coaches and working out a smoother transition.
Jones has made a lot of progress and that Oklahoma game showed a lot of promise even though it ended badly. I'd like to see Tennessee get back to where they belong just below Bama in success.

I think Donor interference with the higher ups got in the way of letting Fulmer do his job & recruiting. That also lead to the two bad choices that followed in hiring replacements. He was a great coach one of the best in the schools history. Neyland Stadium before Fulmer's hiring and when he left was as different as night and day. He built the teams that brought in the crowds that lead to the expansions an upgrades.
I have a feeling he’s likely still in better shape than either one of us. LOL I got to go watch a closed practice his last year as coach. He moved a lot faster than you think. That was a fun day a guided tour of the entire athletic department just about. Actually the tour was for my grandson but an adult had to be with him :>}
