My vet is considering retiring now, partly due to having to deal with untrained, unsocialized, barely-controlled pit bulls he has to deal with. Idiots get them because they’re status symbols and they have no business having these dogs.

I rarely see a pit bull that’s not lunging to get away from its idiot owner to go terrorize someone or something. Pit bulls are the muzzies of the dog world.

Very true, right down to the fact that a small fraction of them are useful, loyal guard dogs which are held up as the rule by their apologists rather than the exceptions which they actually are.

The cities need to put up warning signs:

Dog bite free zone.

That should be effective in stopping those vicious dog attacks.

A few years back an acquaintance wanted to find a home for a Pitbull puppy. She worked for a vet that was asked to put it down, he ask if it was OK to find it a new home.

I occasionally see them out walking, at a glance you would not take it for a Pitbull. Just a happy dog walking with its family!

Pit bulls are THE reason I now carry a .38 Special +P. My wife and I were out walking in the community park a few years ago and met one of our @sshole neighbors with her Pitbull off leash. Her husband later told me that their precious little doogie had $2,000 worth of obedience training and wouldn't hurt anyone.
