Faster Than Schnell.
You mean to say that after the hundreds of millions of garage checks and work on VWs that millions of garage mechanics didn’t know about this fraud and failed to report it? Sounds like collusion and gangsterism to me.
BMW got caught too. 11x off not 40x off during new testing.
Who cares as long as they are muzzies
Not affecting my ‘11 Cayman S either......hard to believe, but the direct-injection 320hp 3.4L gets 38mph on interstate......due to aerodynamics & 7th gear, gets better mpg at 70 than at 60......
I too have a modified PU with a Duramax with the Edge performance chip. Can adjust for economy, performance or towing. Also enlarged the intake and exhaust ports. The manufacturers want to make it illegal to modify their software under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Screw ‘em.
That’s awesome. I easily get 48-49 going to work (mostly highway) and have had as much as 53 mpg. My son always tells me that people on forums are getting as much as 60-70. We’ll see what happens!
Mine is a 2010 (LMM.) I removed the DPF, CAT and EGR. Upgraded the turbo (~doubled the CFM) and all the piping on the intake side. It has 5 selectable EFI Live tunes. My son and I did all the work. Have $3,000 in parts, half of that is the turbo. I did all this when it had 2,500 miles on it.
This is really getting good.

It is indeed. Didn't something similar happen before with GM (Cadillac?) and Toyota?
Niiiccceee. Me likey.
Rest In Peace, old friend, your work is finished.....
If you want ON or OFF the DIESEL KnOcK LIST jut FReepmail me..... This is a fairly HIGH VOLUME ping list on some days.....
I cannot imagine anybody actually taking their VW TDI in to have them make it get less mileage! IT'S NOT A BUG, IT'S A FEATURE!................................

Unless it IS a Bug!
Same here with my 3/4 ton 06 cummins ..... turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, programers, compound turbos, injectors etc... my mpg improved by 6 mpg to 22 highway. ....
Albeit with different settings on the programer I can an do “roll coal” but normal economy settings no coal from the exhaust is visible ...... as well I lucky to live in a state that doesn’t do emission testing.
Oh it’s affected. This goes back to the 09 models.
There’s a 3.8 litre 993 engine and 6-speed gearbox under that Karmann coachwork. Big-bucks restomod.
I can’t remember anything quite on this scale, of course it was just dead people, not “Global Warming” related.
My 2006 Tdi (currently 152,000 miles) still going strong. Just routine maintenance so far.
Not being a so called "clean diesel" she's not fuel finicky. Kerosene, heating oil, Jet A/B, off road diesel up to 10% all can be burned. Not that I do it often, but have at times need to get rid of some of those. Much more environmentally friendly than other options.
Problem is, in my state at least, you may not be able to renew your registration if the engine hasn’t been castrated by the dealer to fix the ‘problem.’
