Calling out his Muslim brothers, calling the cross a failure, telling us that God is open to homosexuality, etc..?.? I am not sure what he means when he talks, however every time he opens his mouth, evil comes out.

Ironically, Jesus was killed by the mob too.

Good points Dilbert.

The fact is, in order to become a Muslim, one must deny the Divinity of Jesus Christ, because as has been pointed out, the teachings of Islam state that Jesus was NOT the Son of God and that He did not die on the Cross, but died a natural death.

The TRUTH is that Jesus said “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”, and “No one cometh unto the Father except by Me”, and if that isn’t enough, “The Father and I are One”.

The undisputable fact is that NOBODY will enter the Kingdom of God except by the intercession of Jesus Christ. Not by Mohammed, not by Buddha, not by Hindu, not by ANY one except Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Mohammed was a murdering, lying pedophile, and ‘allah’ is NOT the God of the Bible, ‘allah’ is in fact a name used to worship the pagan moon god in what is now known as Saudi Arabia, and those pagan beliefs pre-date the Bible and have been proven false and erroneous so far as having any connection whatsoever with the true Word of God.

Islam is not a religious system, it is a political ideology hiding behind the pretense of religion, it is a demonic and depraved perversion of any and all things that are truly Holy, and it leads only to one path, spiritual and literal DEATH.

On a personal note, I have an adult daughter who inexplicably chose to become a Muslim, I told her I would have nothing more to do with her, and that as far as I was concerned, if it came down to a choice between her and Jesus Christ, that “as for me and my house, I will follow the Lord” and that she would be on the outside looking in, needless to say, she didn’t like that very much, but I told her that I would be continuously praying for the scales to drop from her eyes, for Almighty God to reveal Himself to her, and to expose the lies of Islam and the duplicity of the Muslim dupes who were pretending to be her ‘friends’.

Praise be to God, my daughter saw the error of her ways, repented of her transgressions, and she is now a God-fearing, Jesus-loving young woman, and I am convinced that it was the power of prayer, and the power of the Blood of Christ that did such a work in rescuing her from what would have been a fatal error in judgment.

Even in the fullest context possible as follows:

“The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

..this statement demonstrates a glaring lack of understanding of the basic tenant of Christianity.

I was raised catholic and I still am, although to many I would be seen as lapsed.

But I remember daily that the sacrifice made on that cross saved me and all who believe. I cannot see that as anything but a wonderful, successful gift.

The adoration of Pope Francis this week as if he is God has bothered me greatly. There was just posted here a story about some dimwit congressman who swiped the Pope’s water glass and shared its contents with his family.

Pope Francis is a man. A man with an important position, but subject to the same flaws any man has. The only person who ever lived a perfect life is his boss.

Just my .08 (it was .02, but inflation)

Shame and failure are NOT synonyms.

Are you talking about the mob, or bride of Christ, who loves Jesus and wants to stay faithful to Him? The bride who rejects the word of false prophets and holds on to Jesus’ Words?

God bless you and your family. I’m sure it was your prayers that brought your daughter to reject Islam, and join with the Body of Christ.

Not sure why the problem with what the Pope said: HUMANLY speaking the cross was a failure. The cross looked like the end to the disciples, to those standing at the foot of the cross, to tbe Romans, and the Jewish leaders. They had yet to experience the spiritual reality and success of the resurrection.

Too much is being extrapolated from his quote.

‘Could the Pope have meant the crucifixion was a failure because Jesus arose from the dead?’

If that’s what he meant that’s what he should have said.

Francis the Foolish. That is what they shall call him.

I agree. People say he speaks in catholic terms. That's fine if he wants to be a priest and work at local catholic church. But, he the Pope and not only are the eyes of the world upon him, he speaks to the world. So when he speaks, he needs to be clear. He needs to remind people of why we need Jesus. This statement he made was horrible.

Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.

The big question is, was it preordained that Jesus had to die on the cross?

Why can’t people see that, humanly speaking, the crucifixion was indeed a failure. His disciples went into hiding, thinking the jig was up. Only after the Resurrection, did the disciples learn what the crucifixion meant. Read the account of the road to Emmaus. Wow!

This could be the beginnings of a new 'Western Schism' in the papacy.

“That is the central theme of Christianity.

Christ died for our sins so we could live an eternal life.

Adam and Eve chose a new ruler of this world in the Garden.

Jesus Christ purchased it back with His life.

Praise God, and I mean that sincerely.

This pope seems to be off his game.

I wonder if he has some medical problems.

It seems like a good idea to replace him, if he is willing.”

A book used in my kids “catholic” school teaches that “Adam and eve are a myth like the easter bunny”

Taken by itself, I can see how someone could call this quote innocuous. However, when you look at the quote in context with everything else he says (e.g. denigration of free markets, elevation of Islam, climate totalitarianism, homosexual support, pedophile scandal, etc.) it is clear that this man is a false prophet.
