Diesel fuel will remain viable for 5+ years, compared to less than 2 for gasoline. That is enough reason to buy a diesel car, truck or boat right there.
If TSHTF, your diesel vehicle will still be running years after that last gasoline vehicle has ground to a halt.
Also, it is more efficient and so you can get better mileage (if I remember my college Thermo class correctly).
