South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier told his players and coaches Monday night that he is retiring immediately, sources told ESPN.com.

I guess that lopsided win by LSU, and 4 straight SEC loss, was too much for him to handle. He should have quit after last season like he said he was going to. That along with people trashing him I don’t blame him. What does he need the aggravation for? South Carolina has never had as winning a team as they have under Steve. Enjoy yourself Steve, you deserve it.

I didn’t like Steve Spurrier, either, until he left the Redskins with $15 million of Dan Snyder’s money!
After that, I liked him.
I still don’t like Dan Snyder — he ruined the Redskins, and continues to do so.
