Ha, ha, ha. Enjoy the’Cocks slide back to Vanderbilt-level mediocrity. Spurs holds all the important coaching records at USC and will for a very long time. He was the best thing that happened to them in decades.

Aww, the good old days when Corso said Spurrier’s Gator’s was going to pick Nebraska apart in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship. 62-24 final, Nebraska :-)

I have a friend who is a big Florida fan and snuck backstage to meet him at a sports banquet in Nebraska and said he couldn’t have been nicer.

I hope it’s not his health.

“I have little respect for him.”

I agree with you. Spurrier was always good at throwing out cheap shots and insults - but when roles were reversed, he’d become indignant and petulant.

I’ve never thought highly of people who loved to dish it out but couldn’t take it.

Dan Snyder’s problem is that, for all of his business acumen, he’s clueless about football.

He really needs to step back and let the football people do their job instead of second-guessing them or trying to play General Manager himself.

Haven’t heard anything regarding him experiencing any health issues. Sometimes you just get tired of where you are working, and if you have the resources that enable you to leave, you decide to call it quits. He wanted to quit after last season, but was talked into giving it another year. I think the season has convinced him that his heart isn’t really into it.

Spurrier’s press conference is scheduled for noon.

Almost every possible living name in football is on the list for the job, including Corso.

Spurrier”can’t take it?” You have no idea what you’re talking about. Wishing something is so, doesn’t make it so.

They're still trying to tackle Tommie Frazier. But NOBODY was going to beat Nebraska that year, that was the greatest college team I'd ever seen.

I agree with your wife - he hasn’t looked “himself” for a few weeks. But, being in Oklahoma I only get to see highlights.

I’m fairly confident that there is no alcohol involved with him. I don’t have first hand knowledge, but I do have several acquaintances that had direct experience with him.

I wish him the best.

I know you are right!

I’ll never understand why Jack Kent Cook did not set the Redskins up so that his family could maintain control. In his will, Cooke left the team and stadium to his foundation with instructions to sell it.

Well, they got $800 million for the Redskins and the stadium, so all was not lost, but he has been, as you point out, a lousy owner!

I lived in the DC area when he bought the Redskins, and I remember that he serially pissed off the fans, the players, the press and the coaches, not necessarily in that order.

Are all four groups still pissed off at him?
