Spurrier on a fire at the Auburn football dorm that destroyed 20 books: “But the real tragedy was that 15 hadn’t been colored yet.”

The scoreboard game! As an assistant and as a head coach, he never lost to UNC.

On Peyton Manning: “I know why Peyton came back for his senior year. He wanted to be a three-time star of the Citrus Bowl.”

This is just one man’s perspective. Spurrier is not a quitter. There will be more info revealed soon. My suspicion is he has illness/health conditions requiring immediate attention. I wish him the best.

Well, he quit the Redskins head coaching job when he realized he was completely clueless on coaching pro football. He thought it would be the same as college. All he did was say run fast and turn around and catch the ball. I never heard him speak in nothing but clichés, constantly.
In fact, he is so classless, he resigned by phone on the golf course. He couldn't bother to drive a few miles and resign in person. I have little respect for him.

They should both be drawn and quartered for that, too.

Although in all fairness, rock bottom was hit when Zorn called for the 'Swinging Gate' play. He should have been air-dropped into the ocean afterwards. Hunter the Punter should have gotten hazardous duty pay for going out on the field for that.

I’ve never understood why people got upset by that. I thought it was marvelous. When it’s over it is over.

I have. Heard he is the biggest ass in sports ownership.

My suspicion is he has illness/health conditions requiring immediate attention My wife is a nurse and she noted the last couple SC games the HBC did not look well. She said he is either a raging alcoholic or has some serious health issues brewing.

He is not. People connected with the program say he is arrogant and a cancer in the locker room, and as the recruiting coordinator for many years, the lack of talent on this team is squarely laid at his feet. The HBC is a great person and one of the best coaches ever. The Gamecocks were lucky to get him, but it was time for Spurrier to go and Steve Jr. with him.

Speaking as a TOSU alum and fan, I dislike Meyer and the way he runs the Buckeye program. Yes I am an old school Woody Hayes and Earl Bruce devotee, and yes Meyer wins championships, but he does it with thugs.

Knowing Aaron Hernandez was on his two championship teams at UF took a lot of the shine off those titles.

Even at UF, Spurrier wasn’t big on recruiting.

I had one of my UF contacts tell me that South Carolina is actually interested in bringing in Muschamp as the next head coach. Now that's funny! Actually, they are looking to interview Ron Zook!
