If you thought it was only humans who are going crazy over football, then you can’t be more wrong!

If you thought it was only humans who are going crazy over football, then you can’t be more wrong! When the world is reeling under the football fever, why should the king of the forest be left behind?

Meet Triton, an 11 year old male lion, from the zoo in Johannesburg, South Africa who has the looks and the skills to give Ronaldo a run for his money!

The majestic lion shares his enclosure with seven female lions, but none of the babes can get his attention when this athletic big cat gets his eyes on a soccer ball.

He also refuses to share with them, instead preferring to show off all his sick moves solo.

Sadly, other lions don't have it so easy. After a courageous battle, Ariel the paralyzed lion died in Brazil in July. Last month, it was revealed that eighteen lions have been neglected at the Tripoli Zoo in Libya after the Gaddafi family fled.

Many big cats around the world are endangered or threatened by poaching and habitat destruction.

Recently, the world were forced to face the horrific reality behind trophy hunting, when southern African country's best-known lion 'Cecil the lion' was murdered by an American dentist. Watch the footage of the lion playing ball below.

I figured this had to be about soccer...Lions know NOTHING about football. Still, Stafford may want to look into changing sports, after all, he only has to get the ball within a target 8 feet high and 24 feet wide to score points.

Stafford and Clayton Kershaw grew up playing on the same sports teams. Seems like Clayton chose wisely, but Matthew not so much.

How cool is it to see a lion bending it like Beckham?

Now all the lion needs is a sweatband with some corporate logo like Nike or Puma on it.

Just kidding, but it should be Puma. :)
