He’s not blaming Bush for 9/11, in the sense Trump clearly doesn’t believe in some kind of “Truther” nonsense. But Trump is clearly implying Bush dropped the ball on 9/11, meaning Bush “didn’t keep us safe”.

Like someone else said it was a low blow. It’s not Bush’s fault at all that 9/11 happened. No one saw that coming. There was no way Bush could have “kept us safe” from that.

Rubio telegraphed the point of this line of audience conditioning ...

These are extraordinarily dangerous times that we live in. And the next president of the United States better be someone that understands these issues and has good judgment about them because the number one issue that a president will ever confront, and the most important obligation that the federal government has, is to keep this nation safe. ...

But the one thing that the federal government must do, the one thing that only the federal government can do is keep us safe. And a president better be up-to-date on those issues on his first day in office, on her first day in office.

And then, the government opens the gate to let the barbarians enter.

Massive disconnect going on there, and all of it designed to centralize power and encroach on personal freedom. Government cannot make us safe without some sort of sacrifice, so government act to make us unsafe, to justify more government.

I saw it coming. Anyone paying attention saw it coming. As a matter of fact, in the mid 1990’s I was driving my son to look at a college. We came within site of the NYC skyline. I pointed out to him the Twin Towers. I said, “you see those two building?........the A-rabs tried to drop them. They set off explosives underneath them hoping they would collapse. It didn’t work. But they’ll try again and get it right.” Yip. That’s what I said to my son.

I’m not sure. How did the terrorists get into the country?

Bush was all for amnesty, quit all but a handful of ICE raids, gave out visas and never checked if they left... let people in without making sure they had a skill we needed and a sponsor - all a failed immigration policy.

NO ONE SAW IT COMING!!!! That’s Trump’s point. Bush has to own “no one saw it coming,” because he WAS president when it happened. And now “we are kept safe” via the abuses of the TSA and indeed all of the HSA goons, although they can’t even conduct a successful catch on a fabricated “intrusion.” But what the hey, we all like to have some guy with rubber gloves grab are balls at the airport now don’t we!

A lot of people saw it coming. We had warnings about that kind of thing all through the Clinton Presidency. There were books out there that described the very thing that happened years before it did.

Bush was complacent about terrorism and his reaction was to go out of his way not to piss off Muslims. He even turned Iraq from a secular dictatorship into an Islamic Republic.

Oh, really?

On Aug. 6, 2001, President George W. Bush received a classified review of the threats posed by Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network, Al Qaeda. That morning’s “presidential daily brief” — the top-secret document prepared by America’s intelligence agencies — featured the now-infamous heading: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” A few weeks later, on 9/11, Al Qaeda accomplished that goal.
