This is typical of the nutcase new principals being appointed by the NYC Bored of Ed. Idiots like this now dictate that you can't sit down all day! I bet she has a desk in HER office. I've been telling you and telling you how bizarre and antithetical to education teaching has become in NYC. That a blatant nutcase like this can dictate that 80-100 teachers have to stand all day, grade their papers in a cafeteria, not have their educational resources ready at hand in their rooms in file cabinets tells you all you have to know about teaching under Mayor DeDumDum and the Alzheimers-ridden hag wrested from retirement to be his Chancellor.

She has a “theory.”

She’d get another theory in a hurry when I (were I a teacher) sued the school board for “reasonable accommodation” for my plantar fasciitis. There are many people who can’t stand all day. I think she’s about to hear from some of them.

I can see the point in this to a degree. There are several teachers at my kid’s school that teach. Up at the white board, talking, roaming while kids do their work, etc. They don’t use a desk much during class time. Obviously they use it for off periods to grade and store stuff.

Other, lousy teachers pass out a worksheet and tell the kids to work on it in groups. Then sit at their desks browsing on-line for clothes, etc. If the kids have a question? “Okay - then you can ask another group if you have to.”

Then the following day spend a few minutes going over what the kids did wrong on their worksheets, then hand out new worksheets on another topic.

They call it “exploration learning” or something.

I read this and almost lost my $5 coffee.

1. I’m surprised a principal has so much power.
2. Can you say OSHA?
3. Influenced by Bloomberg the open office fanatic?
4. The kids’ medications now sitting on the radiator—that one takes the cake.

And how much money just wasted? And what about a handicapped instructor, a veteran who might not be able to stand all day. Stupid.

What are the odds that that furniture was really removed because somebody could profit off new furniture?

Maybe they can get Marcella Sills in to take over. It appears she’s still employed by the district.

Ya think you’ve seen and heard it all—and then something this stupid and outrageous comes along……………Every teacher in that school should walk off the job and not come back until this nut job is gone…………...

piled in the trash ? taxpayer dollars down the toilet.

Nevermind the lunacy of this...
Couldn’t the stuff have been sold or recycled ?
Plus there will be the additional expense of purchasing the replacement stuff when this experiment fails.

Blaming desks instead of bad teachers is like blaming guns instead of murderers. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

It is just plain stupid and mean spirited to do this. It is disrespectful to treat professionals in this manner.

Maybe the principal has one of the insane zero tolerance policies where if a few teachers are lazy and sit around too much, all the teachers have to lose their desks and chairs.

But filing cabinets, too? Spending too much time organizing their material?
