I could have told him that kissing up to illegal aliens and promising to govern like LBJ wasn’t going to work with the rank and file (the good Republicans).

You tell it like it is.
Truth is, Jeb was a good governor, and strikes me as a good man.
But he’s wrong on the big issue of our day - immigration.
And beside that, electing him would have been degrading to our national character. Don’t get me wrong: It’s nothing personal, but his name MUST disqualify him. For the health of the republic, we have to show that we’re still a vital nation of free and independent-minded citizens, not a lazy, decadent backwater of serfs watched over by the New World equivalent of hereditary monarchy — i.e., a handful of aristocratic families.
