Did you, when it wasn’t starting, shift to neutral and while keeping your foot on the brake try starting? Just to ensure that the interlock wasn’t the issue?
Yeah, tried that as well..No click whatsoever from the starter.

That was going to be my suggestion, too. I have 2015 Grand Cherokee and found that shifter not to be something I like at all.
