Finally got Win10 installed on an extra Win7 hard drive.

Not impressed. They removed the ‘classic’ theme and the standard one looks like crap. Toolbars fade into the windows, slidebars are nearly invisible and too narrow, window box lines are too narrow.

Switched out to my other hard drive with Win 7. It was refreshing to see a screen and windows that are usable.

Windows 10 was, like 8, made for glitz and glitter, not productivity. They can take their tiles and ...

Actually all you have to do is switch to Classic platform and you’ll think you’re back to XP.

If you’re giving away most of the copies, that isn’t that hot a trick, just like AOL memberships.

It makes me suspicious as hell when they are so hell-bent on getting Windows 10 on everyone’s PCs. I suspect there’s either more spyware or more anti-piracy code or both so our federal masters are pleased.

I bought a back-up licensed copy on Windows 7 because I suspect that’s the “good OS” Microsoft wants to get off the market.

How?

In the themes there is no classic anything.

I have it on all 4 of my computers. No problems so far. Hate Cortana...useless.

I couldn't agree more, no depth in program graphics, everything looks flat. We have Windows 10 on all our computers at work and it is a relief to go home at night to my Windows 7 desk top.

i had it for a day and uninstalled it to go back to Win8 that came preloaded on the PC. The new Edge browser did not work at all, I went back to firefox for the day. worst part was doing a My PC type search, the bar kept clocking and clocking.... i lost so much productivity that it was quicker to go through the uninstall and go back to tried and true.

Tom were you looking for the classic startup page?

Tom were you looking for the classic startup page?

I was hoping to find the 'classic' theme that emulates the XP buttons, slidebars, window frames, etc., for program windows.

Classicshell does some, but they are not fully supporting Win10. I do use Classicshell with Win7.

From what I have read via Google searches, MS intentionally removed the 'classic' theme from Win10 after one of their beta releases a couple of years ago, and they never restored it.

I did find one 3rd party website that has a partial classic-like appearance, but that is only for background colors. The buttons, slidebars, frames, etc., remain flat.
