I don’t care how allegedly “incompetent” the IT staff was at Disney.

I guarantee you when they are replaced by cheaper Indian labor, those fired Americans on the unemployment line, will look like MENSA scholars compared to the really incompetent Indians they hired to take their place.

But many of the Americans will be struggling, looking for a job, depleting their savings and getting government assistance. Who do you think will pay for that? The Indian government or you and I at the end of the day?

America should look out for Americans first. Period.

That is exactly what has happened with my company.

I’ve never fired a competent resource in my entire career. There are plenty of markets where the IT unemployment is <1%. If these ex-Disney employees deserve a job, they will get one. Period. I can’t find resources fast enough right now. Half of the people I interview claim skills they don’t have.

But - back up: I used the words “deserve a job.” No one “deserves” a job. That’s a liberal way of thinking. If these ex-Disney employees are WORTH a job, they will get one - period. If they are whining about being out of work in a hot IT market, then it is because THEY SUCK. Trust me. If they are any good, they could apply to any of my open positions and would probably get hired in a heartbeat unless they have the liberal expectation that they should all be paid like CTOs.

This is no different than the fast food workers who are basically incompetent but demand $20/hr. We don’t champion them and we shouldn’t start championing IT workers who can’t compete in a market that is current an employee’s market - big time.
