My home is relatively small. 2400 square foot for 6 people. Not a mansion at all. In Maryland our home was about 3200 square foot. What can you do? My sister’s home is 6800 square foot but it is in Indiana which is affordable to have a house that size.

We have 2,400 sq. ft. for 11 people plus a floating population of, “Who is this kid? Oh, who cares, just wash up her dishes and don’t give her my wine.”

I could do a “tiny house” if I was alone, but not with other people.

I’m in about 2500 soft with a wife and 2 children. When I was single 400 sqft would have been plenty for me.

I have 3,400 sq feet, but it is in the woods, with lighted pathways, tree houses, and the location and charm make it my home.

Now that the kids are moving on, it is big and quiet. But on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and in the summer, it is full.

A home is meant to be an anchor for one's family. It is amazing to me how quickly our society forgets that.
