Based on witness accounts, investigators believed the teen â allegedly a documented member of a local street gang â was handling a loaded firearm when he âunintentionallyâ shot himself, the release stated.
It remained unclear how he obtained the handgun.

Somewhere Darwin smiles.
As do I.
Love a story with a happy ending.
Were those witnesses perhaps somehow involved with this accidental shooting? Was it accidental?

This was a case of LA roulette where unlike Russian roulette they use a semi-auto handgun instead of a revolver.
Average intelligence level for Los Angeles area has increased slightly

That street gang must be a little light on basic training.
My basic was Navy boot camp and a little training aboard a destroyer. My only training was with a .22 bolt action, an M1 Garand and a Browning 1911 .45. My Dad also showed me what to do with firearms.
No one, not a soul, responsible for teaching me ever suggested I point a loaded firearm...or unloaded...at my head.
One less gang member to worry about.
Bye Felicia! :-P
“It remained unclear how he obtained the handgun.”
