Though not very common, select fire weapons ARE legal to won in the U.S. They’re just expensive to buy, expensive to feed, and last I heard the whole NFA paperwork process is taking about 5 months right now.

Only those that were registered prior to October 1986, same as with fully automatic weapons: only those that were registered prior to October 1986 are legally transferable.
BTW, I think the NFA paperwork is taking WAY longer than 5 months, unless they’ve vastly improved things in the last few years.
