To: PROCON
I was in 6th grade. Coming back from lunch, we kids were told to head for the auditorium. That is where the principal made the announcement, then sent us home. I remember all the sadness in our house for the next couple of days as we had the tv tuned in to the funeral. I remember Mom crying when John Jr. saluted his father's casket. Even now when I see film clips of that salute, I think of my mother and it makes me sad too.

3rd grade, Mrs. Finnegan told us and we were sent home. Shock throughout the neighborhood. I was really too young to understand the impact. But I do remember being frightened when Oswald was killed!
