Traveling Wilburys

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were an English-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. The band recorded two albums in 1988 and 1990, though Orbison died before the second was recorded.

I have not been a fan of Jeff Lynne/ELO and find his “music” extremely boring and superficial. Yet, some seem to hang on his every word/note.

He simply did not fit the Traveling Wilburys who had a few catchy tunes - especially the George Harrison song “Handle With Care” has lyrics that one could relate to personally.

I’m very sorry that they didn’t take Del Shannon on before he took his own life. They might have helped him a bit.

Miss that sweet voice of Roy Orbison.

You know that you’ve made it when Roy Orbison is singing your backup.

Each of them could probably say the same and just substitute another one of their names.

Once I was a fan of Jeff Lynne and ELO. I did not
enjoy all of his music but much of it seemed pretty
fresh and unique. Lynne helped to produce recordings for
Harrison, Dylan, Petty, and Orbison. However, I just read your post and now I know that Lynne and his ELO had no talent and
were boring. Although I never hung on every note I was wrong
to think I enjoyed that “music”. I’m going to review my
back issues of GLOBE to see why Harrison, Dylan, Petty, and
Orbison could be duped into allowing a no talent slacker
like Lynne into the Travelling Wilburys.

After working with Lynne soon Roy Orbison became dead.
Later, George Harrison became dead. Who’s next? Dylan?
Petty? Thanks for showing me the light.

Thanks. That’s the point I wanted to make. I think Lynne is one of the best.

I used to get “Wilbury” confused with “Dingleberry” and thought it was gross.

Glad I could help you see the light!

Lynne/ELO had the musical substance of Taylor Swift/Justin Bieber with the same adoring fanbois who lack the insight to discern schlep from music.

It’s not a coincidence Lynne/ELO had a very short one-teeny-tiny-hit-wonder career with no impact.

btw, you forgot to add your “/s” tag to your attack post...

Those who need to see “/s” should probably be ignored
when it comes to music taste or just about anything else.

But happy Thanksgiving, anyway.
