One of my personal Steve Goodman favorites is ‘A Cub Fan’s Dying Request’. It is really an anthem for the poor Cubbies. Sadly, we lost Mr Goodman to leukemia in the autumn of 1984. Loved his music.
Yes it is. Steve accomplished so much in his short life. He knew early that his years were limited and made the most of what he had. In addition to all the great songs he wrote he pretty much made John Prine’s career. Prine is a huge lefty, but it can’t be denied that he wrote a bunch of great songs.
