While I had intended to bypass the president's speach tonight, I was overcome at the last minute by a morbid curiosity: How big of a bomb could he drop?
I was not disappointed.
President Obama tonight delivered a tense, rehearsed, non sequitur.
He first laid out his strategy for the...what? Defeat of ISIS?
But he framed it as a strategy nevertheless. He enumerated all the elements of his current, failed, course of action.
And then he said, with that school marm tone of his: It's the right course. You know, the course that isn't working.
Then, like the committed Marxist he is, went after guns. I say, I'd certainly rather there be unfettered access to the best of modern firearms, than a non-judical "list" developed by Lois Lerner and her ilk saying who can, and cannot purchase a firearm. I believe a majority of Americans would say the same. And, certainly the courts would agree.
But, I'm not so sure about Republicans.
The, and this is the part that is likely to sit most crooked with Americans, he went on to defend Islam. Muslims are everywhere you know, and they're good Americans.
While I'm sure that's true in many cases, it just goes to show Obama's essential affinities lie not with Western Civilization, but with Islam.
Who can deny Islam is at the root of 95% of all terrorism in the world?
He's asking America to deny reality.
He said the answer is not getting into a protracted war. He hasn't asked for congressional approval to authorize drone strikes. What does he want?
Asking if there are any “good Muslims” is asking the wrong question.
Good Muslims CANNOT be good Americans!
Sharia law is in direct conflict with the US Constitution, and, in order for one to be a “good Muslim,” one must be Sharia complicit!

He wants Congress to approve a non-specific AUMF to combat terrorism, when he can't even identify the enemy beyond "ISIL.
Open ended.
Does he want to invade Syria and Northern Iraq? Or, does he just want Congressional approval to further erode American's safety and security by furthering an Islamist agenda in the world, however that manifests in his mind?
He wants the extension of NSA authorizations to spy on Americans, because he refuses to protect Americans from an invasion of Terrorists. Rest assured those powers would be used against White Christians 10x as much as Jihadis.
At the very least Obama is a co-conspirator of the Jihadis.
There are a lot of people who think that Obama is a Moslem and that is what motivates him.
They might be right.
I think he’s simpler than that.
I think he is motivated by fear and greed and the approval of his mother-figure, Valerie Jarrett.
I hope you didn’t hurt him too badly.
Thank God the perps screwed up. They were probably hoping to draw in first responders, and then detonate remotely. Why else hang around in the vicinity. They got caught before any detonation happened.
Democrats have a lot to answer for perpetrating this evil on the American people all in the pursuit of their power over a country.

It’s not just Obama that asks us to deny reality, it is all of Leftism, and the Democrats. ALL of them. They’re just as bad as the cancer we face, as they refuse to call it what it is and at least try to eradicate it.

He says ISIL when he speaks because that branch denies the right of Israel to exist.
Which he agrees with.
By using the term ISIL he is sending a message to them that he secretly supports them and their cause.
“It’s almost like he’s being forced to say these things”. Yes, me too. I’ve wondered who his is actually a puppet for. The Saudis? Sorors? Who actually benefits from chaos?
He wants something different than the post 9-11 War on Terror authorizing resolution.
Since that resolution gives him all sorts of power to prosecute the War on Terror (of which ISIS is a part, and a defined enemy) there shouldn’t be a need for another one. So speculation is that since the Bush Admin put in place and set precedents for certain constraints, he wants something with his own signature on that he can then have his advisors intrepret. Not having to defend reinterpreting the 9-11 authorization.
the real reason is that he wants other parties to spread the blame around if his “plan” doesn’t work.
He wants something he can reasonably interpret as authorization to overthrow Assad.
And engage Russia militarily if that is necessary to accomplish the Assad overthrow.
He has Mccain and Graham standing over his shoulder saying “We can beat these guys!”
