Just double-check to make sure they aren't really old. If they are old enough, they are real money.

Actually all you have to do is look at the sides. If you can see bands of different metal, then the only thing precious about it is the fond memory of what coinage once was.

These were all newly (?) minted Kentucky quarters. If there are old quarters, I’ll sift through them to see if there are any “real” quarters. They’re getting harder and harder to find.

When I was in Tucson, in 2005, my neighbor, the coin collector, gave me a full set of 1944 coins. I love it! And the last time Charlie gave me quarters, he gave me a $2 bill. :o] I love getting those! I’ll have to ask him for more, as he uses a bank and I don’t, so I don’t have access to the $2 bills.
