FOR years experts have warned there would come a day when antibiotics would cease being effective.
And it seems that day could be sooner than first thought after scientists discovered a new superbug that is not just impervious to the last line of defence medication, but has the ability to infect other bacteria.
But instead of destroying its virulent cousins this new strain of e.coli actually strengthens them by giving them the same antibiotic shield.

You’re right - the use of antibiotics in livestock as a preventative over cure encourages the rise of antibiotic resistant bacteria that can jump species.
Amazing, though, how many people will save some because they worked. Unreal.
Antibiotics don't make them fatter, they just ward off disease. They improve calf survival on open range and are usually administered during branding (and making little bulls into steers).
The first thing I do when I get home from any outing is wash my hands, and I never eat without first washing my hands. Have not been ill for well over a decade.

But it actually has a good effect on any host... better vision and strength to follow the will of one’s heart.
