I would rather be able to see the ground. Much more interesting.
JAL has a forward-looking camera that gives a pilot’s-eye view of take offs and landings (the landings are really neat, they switch the camera on when the airport is just a tiny speck on the screen). My stepson, who isn’t a happy flier, hates it.

then you would probably have an interest in the belly turret on the WWII Bombers....
I was about 7 when the war ended and saw so many AF movies, I was convinced by 10 that I wanted to be a belly turret gunner. My uncle, USN Vet sort of informed me that a - you are THE target, b - any problem with landing gear etc and I also think he threw in if I knew where ANY liquid from ANY part of the plane would settle prior leaving the craft.
He was pretty much of a BS’er (in this case a realist) but I had no problem believing him and my next ‘great love’ for the Military was the USMC Dress Blues which I also NEVER wore, settling for the USN uniform.
Yes, a ball turret with some heavy machine guns would be a lot more fun. :)
Many of the newer larger airplanes have a camera in the front of the aircraft, basically a cockpit view of the ground. Pretty cool to watch yourself land.
