My Italian ancestry was repelled by the thought of turkey or goose for Christmas. We had an elaborate pasta dish coupled with baked chicken and an antipasto up front. Dessert was pizzelle, cannoli and various Christmas pastries with rum.
Non-Italians are culturally deprived.

I’ve always wanted to do an elaborate pasta dish on Christmas. I usually just grill steak for the wife and kids.

I have had the pleasure of attending a traditional Italian ‘ feast of the seven fishes ‘ on Christmas eve. My heaven....such food
The Italians are masters in that department.

My husband, unusual circumstances this year, flew home to be w/ his folks eating LOTS of his Italian mother’ s cooking. Lucky boy. I cook wonderful meals for him & I am having my guilty pleasure food, chicken pot pie w/ a delicious Cabernet! ;) Merry Christmas!

It isn't a celebration without pasta! It's tradition for our family Christmas eve to make fritelle/ponzerotti. Here is a link for what they are and how to make them if anyone is curious:
Panzerotti I love pizzelle.. my favorite flavoring is anisette liquor instead of vanilla. I might have to break out the iron tomorrow :)
