Funny indeed, I was working in field service repairing office equipment. I went yo a grade school, the office was right across from the music room. The beginners band was practicing, they were very much beginners. I said to the secretary “you must be very tolerant or you must be wearing great ear plugs. She said she just got used to it. :-)

Maynard made it popular, but it really goes back to Cat Anderson.

This is obviously a spoof of TubaChristmas, but what I don't get is I see a lot of tuba players trying to play the highest notes they can.
Not me. I'm going as low and loud as possible.

Yep. I like Tower Of Power for their trumpets, but those low, loud saxes really provide the counterpoint.
