Yes and no. They’re only doing this because we know that we won’t mount a full resistance and even if there’s a bit of resistance, it will be unsupported because none of our leaders will resist. So this means we’ll look weak and easily defeated, which unfortunately will be the case.
We have no leader. We have a pro-Muslim president, pro-Muslim European leaders and even a pro-Muslim pope.
TBH it looks like the Iraqi army is (finally) doing well against ISIS by retaking Ramadi. Those who have spent time with ISIS and have been amongst them seem to agree that deploying non-muslim boots on the ground is a trap designed to stir up the Muslim world onto their side. If air and SF support can enable muslim ground forces to do the job, then all the better. Putting Western boots on the ground should be an absolute last resort IMHO, because it is exactly what they are planning for and want to see happen. The last thing they want is to be crushed by other muslims because it ruins their inspiring narrative.
