I learned that the Bowl Selection Committees are very poor matchmakers. Also the CFP committee.

Given that they are, the damage can be somewhat mitigated by expanding the field to an 8-team playoff.

I've heard that it won't work. It messes with final exams or something. Not enough time.

So you want to take to take what’s making it wrong and expand that? Why not just have a 64 team playoff? Why not just replace college football with minor league teams for the pros? The problem is they’ve let people who like professional footvall, but not college football turn college football into pro football. They should get rid of the playoff. College football is better when it’s allowed to be what it is.
