The founder was, I think, named Harold Earl Butt. So, it is literally Harry Butt’s grocery

Pretty funny, but the store was founded by Florence. Her son, Howard Edward Butt, expanded it. During the '60s, he was said by locals to be the owner of a large, brown house on Ocean Drive in Corpus.
