Running XP. Trying to log onto a game site I have used for a long time. Won't allow me -- "Error 10061." Multiple sites on the web promise to fix the problem -- if I download their $40-$70 programs. Is there another fix?
Thanks.
The Internet doesn’t you and your Old win XP anymore
ALSO,
What browser are you running? If it’s Internet Explorer, the highest version that runs on XP is version 8.
I believe there are versions of Chrome you can install on XP that will let you get around most problems that occur from web page browser version incompatibilities.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
They’re moving a lot of webpages away from old Internet Explorer 8, but you can still use Chrome on XP to get around that.

You got banned! But seriously game sites tend to get get DDoSed alot. or a server crash. Hold on for a few days.
Thanks for the input. She got it working again by loading an error fixer for $30. BTW, it’s the NML online game. Yes, it’s an old XP machine that is totally obsolete, but then, when you run no sophisticated utilities, why upgrade for $XXX?
