The 24 reboot is about a military hero, âEric Carter,â who returns to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back â compelling him to ask the Counter Terrorist Unit for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
Obviously no reality connections to the plotline; had a citizen asked for such assistance they would have been advised to get a restraining order and perhaps have the situation investigated after their death.
That said, I'll probably watch it until the second episode where they reveal it is some sort of domestic terrorism born from the birther movement or some other nonsense.
Oh--the version I read said they were casting someone new to play Jack. But a brand new character with a new name is the better way to go. Just as long as this "Eric Carter" is willing to shoot people in the knee caps, everything should be okay :)
