As I read some of the comments, I see that I had NO IDEA what the story was about.....another post I wrote by reading the article title without reading the story. lol. I do that from time to time especially if it is something that has to do with my family. Well the title sorta did but the story is FAR FAR FAR from our experience. No way would my wife or myself subject our children with that abuse.

I have 2 sons and a daughter and never really gave thought to which gender I wanted. We have 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters and if they all been one sex I wouldn’t care.
Yikes. That poor boy, having a sexist mother who doesn’t want him. Children sense everything, so hopefully that milquetoast of a father will get some sense so he can rear a man and in the process, become a man himself.
I don't mean to be nitpicky... but there is a dissonance in this thought process. As much as we call children "blessings", they are the only blessings we turn down. I don't know anyone who has a limit on how much money they would want to make, yet we have a limit to the number of children we'll accept. Both are blessings... both aren't welcome to the same degree.
We trust God and know that He knows what He's doing better than we do... except when we've had enough children. Then we say we trust God while stopping Him from doing His Will with us.
Nothing personal meant here... just an observation.

I was only able to have one child. I was really pleased he was/is a boy. I was a tomboy and knew I could relate better to a boy. Funny how things work out.....his first child is a girl......and we adore her. That being said, I have some mild concern that so many girls are being born......afraid there won’t be enough boys to go around for the number of girls in this generation. Counting all my friends with grandchildren, approx 70% are girls. I have wondered if there is anything in our food supply causing this. Seriously. Any anecdotal stories that someone else notices an inordinate number of girls being born these days?

Some Mommies have been treating their sons like little girls since the beginning of time. This is nothing new.
I have two girls and a boy. I wouldn’t trade any of them for anything.

Yes. In China, women are regularly and systematicaly raped by the male relatives of their husbands because there are not enough women for all men to have wives. This is due to selective abortion of females under the one child requirement. Everybody wanted a son.
My answer: Yes.
I have twin daughters and one stepson. All are as important to me as anyone.
