LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A 33-year-old Alex Green Elementary School employee was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment Sunday after officers allegedly found three children in her trunk.
According to police, a total of nine students were reportedly in Andria James' 2010 Chevy Malibu at the time. Three of the children were allegedly inside the trunk.
A customer reportedly spotted James' car at a La Verge Speedway Sunday and called police.
News 2 spoke with James on Monday who claims she is not the person people are making her out to be.
"There were never nine in my car or in the store. Never," she said.
James also told News 2 none of the children were ever in the trunk.
"That's a complete and utter lie," she said.
"So you're saying that they did not ride in the trunk, they got in the trunk at the store? Did they get in the trunk at the store," News 2 reporter Larry Flowers asked.
"Well, the doors were opened, so let's say that," James said." When the trunk came up, we had all their things in the back trunk because they needed to go home. I only needed to transport them at that point."
Police said surveillance video from store disputes James' claims.

Some black guys I remember growing up used to carry their coon dogs in the trunk
WEre the children harmed in any way? If not, no foul.
What are you? Some kind of a nut?
Were there seatbelts in the trunk?
You do know that although we were reassured over and over in the early 60's that they would never be made mandatory (good) they most certainly were made mandatory (bad). A twisted exception for the "pro-choice" crowd.
For better or for worse.
Crikey! They were either in the trunk or not in the trunk.
Some cars have access through the trunk to the backseat. I know, as a joke, I let the kids get in (and out) through the trunk. Possible she did this and they mistook the situation? This article is a little hard to follow. Is writing a comprehensive story too hard nowadays?
Whatever else she did or did not do (the article is terribly written), James is a complete moron for this alone. Arrested on Sunday, talking to the press about it on Monday?
How hard is that for people to learn?
Driving to Little League practice in 1961, we had seventeen (fifteen players plus two adults—our coach’s car was in the shop) in our manager’s lowered ‘53 Chevy coupe, including three sitting on the equipment bag in the open trunk. As an older player I had two kids sitting on top of me in the back seat. We only went about a mile, carefully; no one was cited or arrested. Obviously, it was a memorable experience.
Give her a katana and you’ve got Mishone’s twin sister.
Hmmm... Could have been a Schrödinger Trunk.
Ooops.... Make that Schrodinger Trunk
“Crikey! They were either in the trunk or not in the trunk.”
Well, until you look and collapse the probability wave, they might be in a state of superposition, just like Schrodinger’s Cat!
Alex Green is one of a handful of elementary schools that many teachers would rather be somewhere else teaching.
A few years back, there was a private donation of millions, to pay teachers extra for teaching, in certain bad schools, like Alex Green, but the NEA refused the money.
Not sure, why they couldn’t just write the teachers a check, directly, since their information of being a public school teacher is....public.
Sounds normal for unions. And for teachers, come to think of it. “Did you bring some for everybody?”
