Felines have long ruled the web, and according to internet denizens, the only thing cuter than a cat is a kitten. Thus, when the imam of an Istanbul mosque posted a video, which showed a mother cat carrying her babies in her mouth, the internet exploded.
Countless shares later, Mustafa Efe, the imam of the Aziz Mahmud Hudayi Mosque, has become famous across the web. Well-known locally for being cat-friendly, Efe's photographs are now all over the web, published by those who go to his mosque.
According to visitors, the imam has also started opening the doors of his mosque for stray cats, so that the felines can escape the cold weather. The Imam is also known to share photos of the cats on his social media account.
According to a post shared on social media, the imam said, "Our mosque's Friday guests, a surprise awaiting us at the sermon today. The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy..."

It is interesting to note that, when cats go hungry, they will eat any protein available, including their recently deceased, human, owner.
Dogs, OTOH, will protect the deceased body of their human-owner while perishing of their lack of protein.
Now...why is that, I wonder?

That’s why I will get rid of my cat as I decline in years, unless my wife outlasts me. I won’t get a dog, either.
She will need to deal with the feline, then!

Don’t get rid of your kitty, please. Just get a cat feeder that holds enough dry food for a few days and keep it full, and one for water. That way if anything happens to you and you have to go into the hospital your kitty will be okay.
All elderly people who live alone should make some sort of arrangement with a neighbor to check up on them or call a family member if they do not see them for some agreed upon period of time. (And feed kitty.)
Maybe the kitty can show the rest of the muslims where to find it, cause it certainly isn't in the mosque. The kitty must have dragged it in from somewhere else.
The real news item would be if he opened a dog rescue shelter.

My cat is used to being on her own for 5-10 days.
I leave food and water [AKA: open toilets and filled sinks] knowing that water is more important than food.
