Yeah, Cruz would be my first choice since he stopped the games with amnesty and has come out fully against it.

But Trump is better than I could have hoped for at the start of the campaign, so I’ll be happy if that’s who we get.

If Trump embraces and expands the kind of abuse of office through executive orders and memoranda that Obama has employed he'll institutionalize that precedent.

To specifically address that issue, the EPA (tyranny!) was founded during a Republican administration. The Patriot Act was rife with opportunity for abuse. What the Left cannot get through over the objections of the Right, the Right gets through over the chirp of crickets. The consolidation of Federal Power has reached into your toilet, your light socket, your doctor-patient relationship, and continues, regardless of who is running the show.

A right-wing populist candidate could get things past the starry-eyed that even Obama can't.

If we want to stop tyranny, we need someone of principle.

Someone who is the master of the deal might just bargain our Liberty away.

The ethanol endorsement shows me there is no intent to rid us of the EPA which is abusing its power and crippling our economy. It shows me he is willing to sell the rest of the nation out for the corn lobby in a small midwestern state. What does that bode for the future over major deals if not ill?

“Trump is no slouch but he has not given any indication of a sharp mind. Cruz is razEr-sharp”

1. Trump hasn’t given indication of a sharp mind? OMG! How could anyone look at his successes and think he’s a dolt?

2. “RazEr sharp”? Maybe Reich means “razOr sharp”? If he does mean “razEr”, that’s true. A razEr is “an ass-kicking machine. Literally. A razEr is a lean mean killing machine.” I like it! Thank you Robert Reissssshhh!

Robert Reich: “Cruz is a fierce ideologue: He denies the existence of man-made climate change, rejects same-sex marriage, wants to abolish the Internal Revenue Service, believes the 2nd amendment guarantees everyone a right to guns, doesn’t believe in a constitutional divide between church and state, favors the death penalty, opposes international agreements, embraces a confrontational foreign policy, rejects immigration reform, demands the repeal of ‘every blessed word of Obamacare,’ and takes a strict ‘originalist’ view of the meaning of the Constitution.”

Sounds good. I’m onboard.

Agreed. Many of the , particularly the leadership of the last 8+ years have done little to nothing to advance conservative causes or even hold the line against liberal ones. Why should I want someone who goes along just to get along? I thought the establishment were the bad guys.

The Donald is probably the world's premiere player of hot buttons.

The word of the day is ludicrous.

So foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous.

The more Donald Trump speaks, the more ludicrous he is shown to be.

This is the first time in my lifelong Republican advocacy that I clearly have NO CONFIDENCE in ANY of my elected Georgia Republicans - right down the damned list of them.

To me they are all duplicitous traitors to a Tee. I won’t be voting for any of them come election time.

Ted Cruz has had a long time to jump off of the Cheap Labor Express. He is a big proponent of LEGAL immigration which, at this point, is damaging the USA as much as illegal immigration.

He paid lip service to his H-1B increase boondoggle by calling for a 180 day moratorium. What a joke.

Bottom line Cruz is the best Establishment candidate out there, but he is still Establishment. I can smell Establishment a mile away.

We don;t disagree that often, but how would someone so hated and contrarian in congress be considered GOP(e)?. I think fighting the status quo should earn him a badge of honor.

Trump’s real reason for turning on Ted, other than he was catching him was this: Ted hurt Mitch McConnell;s feelings in that public rebuke. As a former federal worker, I know that it’s not considered “nice” to say anything about your superiors and they can get real nasty about it. However, I think the founding fathers were rejoicing! They surely would’ve stood to say the exact same thing...many of the...had they been alive.

There have been so many times that I’ve wanted to suffer the expense of taking a trip to DC, getting entrance to the Congress, when in a dual session, and read them the riot act. We’d be taken out in shackles and arrested for disturbing the “peace”. We’d not even get a chance, honestly and truthfully. The fact that one of our own Tea Party guys stood FOR us, where we could not, risking his career, and possibly his life was such a thrill to watch that I realized then that Cruz deserved our vote. IS he a perfect candidate? Nobody is, but of the 16 who started, way more morally and fiscally a strong leader, and as Scripture admonishes us...we should elect only godly leaders.

Here is a very good article:

He cannot be a person who listens to lies, for the Bible says, “If a ruler harken to lies, all his servants are wicked” (Proverbs 29:12). Men and women with fortitude and honesty, guided by what is right, make history.’ from Adrian Rodgers, Leadership Crisis in America)

Reich sounds like the best salesman for Cruz ever.

“He denies the existence of man-made climate change, rejects same-sex marriage, wants to abolish the Internal Revenue Service, believes the 2nd amendment guarantees everyone a right to guns, doesn’t believe in a constitutional divide between church and state, favors the death penalty, opposes international agreements, embraces a confrontational foreign policy, rejects immigration reform, demands the repeal of “every blessed word of Obamacare,” and takes a strict “originalist” view of the meaning of the Constitution.”

Heaven sakes, Cruz is batting .1000 with this list.

Frankly, I detest this House and Senate ‘seniority’ system whereby whomever putz can stay in office longest gets the ‘superiority’ over their contemporaries (and the sentiment of the millions of constituents who expect better).

My assertion is that we have 50 states with 100 Senators and that NO STATE shall take precedence over another. Each state shall be equal in importance and impact - as our founders intended. This seniority system subverts that along with their doggone ‘rules’ enacted extra-constitutionally (i.e., not clearly delineated).

This is why we end up with RINOs, liberal zealots and demented old men and women in charge of the lives of our children and grandchildren so they can have power and control they don’t even know how to handle, frankly.

I’m just sick, sick, sick of it.

Ted or better yet, a Cruz PAC, should make this into a pro-Cruz ad.

Trump's legalization amnesty will make temporary H-1Bs look like small potatoes.

And then there's Trump wanting to permanently legalize Foreign Students who graduate. Again that will make H-1Bs look like small potatoes.

But I'm pretty sure you will ignore all that.
