Ironically, the song “Born In The USA” isn’t a pro-American song at all. I was able to hear that back in high school. Doesn’t anyone listen to song lyrics anymore?

Neither is "American Woman" by the Guess Who. I couldn't believe that this stridently anti-American ditty actually made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Perhaps many of those who bought the record weren't listening to the lyrics.

Yankee Rose, on the other hand, is a beautiful, upbeat, patriotic song about an American woman.

And “Uncle Tom” of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” was not what black people think he was. Of course, nobody reads any more, especially classics like Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
