Full title: EXCLUSIVE: It's a miracle - How Jaxon, the baby given days to live when he was born with most of his skull missing, has defied the odds - and is celebrating his first birthday

Born with most of his brain and skull missing, baby Jaxon Emmett Buell was not expected to live. In fact his parents had been told to abort him when doctors discovered his condition.

But he has defied all odds - and now he has just celebrated his first birthday.

Baby Jaxon's devout Christian parents, Brandon and Brittany Buell, were told by doctors that he had an extreme brain malformation, which meant he would probably not survive the pregnancy.

But Jax Strong -- a nickname he has earned on social media - is now one years old. His inspirational story has captivated families across the U.S., with nearly 90,000 people 'liking' his page on Facebook and 18,000 people sharing his story.

Jaxon was diagnosed as having Anencephaly, a neural tube birth defect in which a child is born without parts of the brain and skull, but doctors were still unsure of how severe his condition would be.

That’s all you have to say?

‘Cause my eyes aren’t too good and it helps me to proofread and edit and remove all those annoying symbols that come up now.

Text size is more important to you than this inspiring story of bravery and faith?

And besides, the text is not THAT large.

You’re a moron.

Hubs and I were frequently mistaken for brother and sister and we’re descended from completely different people.

Both white, primarily European stock, but his is English and German and mine is German and Native American.

Guess that all white people look the same.

Baby With Partial Skull Reveals Brain's Flexibility

//

In a recent video posted on Facebook, 1-year-old Jaxon Buell coos and mumbles, "I love you," to his parents.

A typical social media share, except that Jaxon was born with microhydranencephaly, a condition so rare it usually only gets a couple of lines in medical textbooks, experts say. He wasn't predicted to live more than a few days, much less come close to saying "I love you." (The post has over 333,801 views so far.)

But Jaxon's case isn't only generating social media support; Jaxon and the other patients with rare brain disorders give doctors a rare window into how our brains work, experts say.

Thanks for posting this inspiring story! I pray for this little boy and his family.

On the little symbols that show up when posting here, this web page fixes most of them. Someone here posted the link to it awhile back and I’ve been using it ever since.
