Rescuers Spotted a Sick Wolf-Hybrid Wandering the Streets of LA and Then Did Something Amazing

In recent years, wolf-hybrids have gained popularity as a trend pet. While these hybrid animals are beautiful, they often require much more responsibility than a typical dog. Wolfdog parents end up overwhelmed and underprepared for the challenges that come along with caring for such active and cunning animals, which leads wolf-hybrids to be surrendered to sanctuaries, or worse … abandoned in the streets. The latter was the case when Hope For Paws received a call about an usual rescue. Rescuers were told that a wolf-hybrid had been spotted walking down the streets of South Central, Los Angeles, looking very sick and disoriented.

Upon hearing the desperate situation, the team raced into action. These amazing volunteers were not only able to rescue this abandoned pup, but also nurse her back to health. Now named Julia, she is well on her way to making an incredible transformation.

Good photos at the source. There is a better chance of rehabbing this wolfdog than many of our feral, stoned, criminal yoofs.
And Julie the wolfdog is doing just fine....it just takes time.

Calling the owners of pets their “parents” is an act of propagandandistic anthropomorphism. Pets are not people. Equating pets with children denigrates human life, and equates it to animal life.

The older I get, the more grateful, even thankful for places and people like Hope For Paws. I have always been a sucker for canines and felines of any size, shape, color. Domesticated, feral or wild there is beauty and loyalty there.
Sometimes it just has to be ferreted out.

Wolfdog parents end up overwhelmed and underprepared for the challenges that come along

And they, along with other irresponsible pet owners, turn animals they can't take care of loose on the rest of us - either as direct threats to other people, or to take root in non-populated areas as invasive species preying on and wiping out native species.

Nice story!

I recommend to anyone that likes animals to check out the VetRanch channel on Youtube. It was started by a vet (who also has a firearms-related Youtube channel), and every video shows the rescue and rehabilitation of some animal, most of which would have otherwise been euthanized. They are also a 501.3c charity, and all rescues are funded by viewer contributions.

I can't figure out how to get a link to the channel, but here is a link to a recent video

Wolfdog parents

***
Sorry, I could not get past that stupid phrase. A wolfdog parents are canines; its human owners are not.

Regardless of the parent title, from experiance I can tell you they are great pets if you are prepared. They are pack oriented and are only happy with a well defined place in the pack unit. They are also independent thinkers, which frustrates most dog owners.

We have had three and were mostly wolf. Ours were no different than raising any other dog. Fine around the kids and family. They do make a good burglar deterrent.

The guy down the street from me has an albino wolf.
Wow, what a starkly beautiful animal.
Oh, and he takes good care of it.

Hybrid “dogs,” hybrid “parents.” I’m guessing there are more deserving targets of your fury. This article isn’t a war on parents, children or humans. Try not to lose sight of its salient content.
