I like “tough talk”... but that involves things like calling Beau Bergdahl a traitor who should be executed, or saying we need a moratorium on Muslim immigrations, or bringing up Bill Clinton’s mistreatment of women directly to Hillary.
What I don’t find “tough” are things like threatening lawsuits over the Iowa caucus results, calling Cruz an anchor-baby, or dropping (implied) f-bombs. That’s just smashmouth boorishness. It’s the opposite of toughness. More like some nimrod heckler at a hockey game.
Trump sure doesn’t seem to know the fine line between the two. And that fact irritates the daylights out of me. Because we’ve been needing a ‘real’ tough-talker for ages, to blast through the liberal PC-stranglehold of the culture. But this smashmouth nonsense of Trump’s is tacky and stupid, and winds up nullifying the sturdy, positive stuff. Really maddening.
Then go vote for Cruz or Rubio. Neither will bring you any of the things you want - like muslim non-invasion - but he won’t cuss like Truman and he won’t be embarrass you in front of your in-laws.
It’s interesting to me that the strongest advocates of Trump on FR are...WOMEN! Perhaps, while we’re watching the mass rapes and execution of women and children in the Mideast and Europe we think we have something more to lose than the male pussies on FR.
