I was thinking the same thing. Like Trump, Patton was great at what he did, a prima donna, and a vulgar loud mouth.
I spent quite a bit of time in Ronald Reagan’s Navy. I learned the value of swearing appropriately and with style.
Agree. Trump may be an imperfect man (aren’t we all), but he gets results. Deeds speak louder than words, imo. Trump’s lack of political correctness is long overdue. If only folks like Romney, McCain, W, Dole or GW had the guts to do so years ago, maybe we wouldn’t be in such a mess.
Look how Trump’s actions/issues have impacted Campaign 2016 on both sides. Remember when Hillary tried the war on women meme with Trump, how he countered, and then how she and Bill ran for the hills? How about “build a wall,” “Kate Steinle,” “only Rosie O’Donnell” or “Muslim timeout?” Anyone else on the Republican side have the guts to do that? No, they just complain about his words and his “tone.”
Trump - an imperfect man for an imperfect time.
Trump couldn’t carry Patton’s jock strap.
Very much like Patton I think. Everybody wanted the man but not the mouth. Trouble is, you can’t separate the mouth from the man. Besides, I think they have similar intents:
“When I want my men to remember something important, to really make it stick, I give it to them double dirty. It may not sound nice to some bunch of little old ladies at an afternoon tea party, but it helps my soldiers to remember. You canât run an army without profanity; and it has to be eloquent profanity. An army without profanity couldnât fight its way out of a piss-soaked paper bag.” â George Patton
Looks like I wasn’t the only one who watched Patton last night. So many similarities... fine by me.
