Thanks to Zsa Zsa Gabor and Donald Trump, it is harder to use these words' original, primary meanings.

When I was a youngster, we sang a song about pussy willows in elemenatry school. I doubt that song is sung any more. My children read older books that use the word "gay" properly, but my wife found it necessary to inform them that these days many people use it to refer to "sinful activity that they approve of", and so the word is best avoided.

Totally agree that pussy is not a vulgar word unless used to talk about a woman’s pubic area . . as in: ‘fat’. . .
To call someone a puss or a pussy is insulting, not vulgar, as it means that person is a ‘sissy’.
I am so shocked to see news people telling parents to remove their children from the room before they hear a vulgar, perverse word. Their kids have to be totally confused, if Americans think pussy is such a bad word their little ears can’t even bear to hear it.
Give me a break!
